Pew Patriot was started out of genuine necessity. CEO Jesse Harper pictured above and below has always been an outdoorsman. Growing up at Durhamtown Off Road Park in Union Point Georgia, he learned to respect the outdoors and firearms from a young age. As a young man, Jesse had a knack for riding motorcycles; specifically, dirt bikes. By age 12, he had started his first business as a motocross instructor. Over the years, he taught every type and age of rider ranging from just 4 years old up to 92 years old. Even celebrities learned to ride at the hands of Jesse's Coaching. Several riders that were taught from a young age have gone on to become professional motocross riders themselves. Jesse rode freestyle motocross with some of the top pros that lived and trained at Durhamtown, and likewise got to shoot guns with several firearms experts at the Sportsman's Resort. At 21, Jesse decided that he wanted to pursue his passion in art as opposed to continuing to push the FMX thing and risk serious injury or worse. He moved to Tampa, Florida where he apprenticed as a tattoo artist learning to take his artistic abilities to the next level. From there, a small landscape lighting company called Landscape Lighting World took a chance on Jesse letting him design some beautifully artistic lighting products. Jesse never looked back, creating over 200 unique products with 30+ utility patents from his creative vision for the company that would eventually become VOLT Lighting today. That's where he learned the development process he used for the firearm accessories you will find here at Pew Patriot. On a Saturday trip to the range, Jesse took a couple of female friends to shoot some of his gun collection. He rented two lanes thinking that he would shoot on one and his friends would shoot on the other. What happened next kickstarted Pew Patriot. Jesse spent the afternoon reloading magazines for the two woman shooting between the two lanes as they simply weren't able to decompress the springs, even with the OEM speed loader. Jesse being the creative type looked at the speed loader for a while thinking about how it could be improved ergonomically, making it easier for everyone to use. His idea was to create a loader that changed the direction of force to the center of the bullet, rather than the edge, making it require much less strength to push. Furthermore, Jesse added a thumb rest to his Pew Patriot Ergonomic Speed loader so that it could be used with a single hand with ease. These features were tested on firearm magazines of all calibers until the design was perfect for most double stack mags. Jesse Quickly 3D printed enough to get started and built his business with the generous help of some family and friends. A special thanks to those that believed in this. After launch, he expanded the line to include even more firearm accessories; handcrafting leather holsters, and using the artistic skills he'd honed over the years to create one-of-a-kind sublimated slings. As an Entrepreneur, Jesse combines his product development knowledge and drive for success with his "Wide-Open" motocross roots attitude to continually develop and produce products that help enthusiasts of firearms just like himself. Pew Patriot is a small business that builds products that work and is continuously reinvesting in new items and product categories for the Outdoor Enthusiast.
This image was taken from a birthday trip to Durhamtown a few years ago on Jesse's personal FMX ramp. Even though his priority is developing firearm products, he still finds time to unwind and let loose with his other passion for riding dirt bikes.
